Rosie’s Plaques is a guerrilla art project run by women of Norwich’s Common Lot community theatre group. The project aims to celebrate the lives, achievements and spaces of women, and it started with the discovery that out of more than 300 heritage plaques in Norwich, only 25 mentioned women! Something had to be done…

After a great response to their first campaign in 2019, Rosie’s Plaques have gone on tour in summer 2021. On Saturday 17th July they uncovered a new plaque at Hungate to commemorate Margaret Paston: 15th-century estate manager, letter writer, matriarch, and self-described Captainess!
