A series of lectures on archaeological topics, to accompany our exhibition on the archaeology of Norwich’s parish churches. All held in Hungate, starting at 6pm. Free entry, no booking needed


Monday 30th May – A Tale of Two Caistors – Dr Natasha Harow

A look at the Roman town of Venta Icenorum (Caistor St Edmund) and the excavations carried out there since the 1920s


Thursday 7th July – The Stained Glass of St Peter Hungate – Gemma Lees

A talk on the revised reconstruction of Hungate’s medieval stained glass


Monday 18th July – Armchair Archaeology: Digging Digitally – Dr Lorna Richardson

A talk on how to discover your local historic environment from the comfort of your own home


Thursday 21st July – The Archaeology of Norwich’s Parish Churches (exact title tbc) – Dr Brian Ayers

This will also be the closing event of the What Lies Beneath exhibition, with wine and nibbles
