Unwrapping Archaeology and What Lies Beneath

Mar 28, 2022

Come along on Saturday 9th April and Sunday 10th April for our Unwrapping Archaeology community archiving project. Join in with unwrapping, photographing, and cataloguing our collection of archaeology-themed printing blocks, ready for conservation. This is a collaboration with the Norfolk & Norwich Archaeological Society, who used the printing blocks for illustrations in their journal, Norfolk Archaeology, going back to its first issue in 1846.

This will also be the second weekend of our What Lies Beneath exhibition, a joint project between Hungate and the Norwich Young Archaeologists’ Club. Explore the history of archaeology within Norwich’s parish churches, and get stuck in with our interactive excavation sandpit. This activity was designed by the Norwich Young Archeologists’ Club and offers indoor, family-friendly fun.

Both Unwrapping Archaeology and What Lies Beneath are open Saturdays 10-4 and Sundays 1-4

Free — no booking fee required
