Could you welcome visitors to Hungate? We open seasonally – and we are currently in need of volunteers to cover weekends and occasional events, from now until late October.

In 2024, our season includes a program of contemporary art under the banner ‘INVERTLIGHT’ created in partnership with Norwich University of the Arts, a solo exhibition by Taiwanese artist Liu Zi-Ping, ‘Stories in Glass’ launching a new publication on the medieval stained glass of Norfolk by Paul Harley and David King with illustrator Glyn Brewerton, and much more…You can read more about all of these activities on our ‘WHAT’S ON‘ page

We are looking for a number of additional volunteers for our front of house rota. We ask that you commit to at least one half-day shift per month in the first instance, although more frequent shifts are very welcome. Training will be given.

Requirements:

  • You will need to be friendly and outgoing, and happy to speak to the general public, answer questions, encourage donations and sell merchandise.
  • Although we try to place volunteers in pairs this is not always possible, so it would be useful if you were confident in working alone following training.
  • An interest in art, be it medieval or contemporary, is an advantage.

How to Apply

  • In the first instance please email info@hungate.org.uk with your details and availability. You will then be invited to attend a training day where you can discover if Hungate is right for you, and sign up for shifts.
